Ionized Acid Water

All electric water ionizers produce both alkaline water and acidic water. Most people purchase a water ionizer for the health properties of the alkaline drinking water. But, did you know that there are many uses for the acidic water as well?

Acidic ionized water is for external use only, not for drinking. Its antimicrobial and astringent properties have found widespread use.

What is Ionized Acid Water?

Acid water can be characterized by the following:

1. Having a pH range between 2.0pH and 6.0pH

2. Having an ORP of +800 to +1200 (more info)

3. Having a hypochlorous acid component from 1-34 mg/l

4. Being micro-clustered

5. Being loaded with H+ (hydrogen ions), which acts as an oxidizer

Two Types Of Acid Water

There are two types of acid water; mild and strong. ‘Mild’ acid water, 4pH – 6pH, is used for the skin, hair and nails, while ‘strong’ acid water, 2pH – 4pH, is used for cleaning and sterilizing.

Although most water ionizers allow you to choose "acid" water from the machine, which would then come out of the top stainless steel hose, there is a way to get the most acidic water from your ionizer (the lowest pH).

Set your machine to the highest "alkaline" setting that it will produce. Then, slow the water flow rate down by turning the flow-control valve to the slowest the water can come out while the unit remains powered on. Then you can collect the acidic water from the acid hose coming from the bottom of the unit in a spray bottle or other glass bottle.

Doing it this way will give you the most powerful acid water that your ionizer can make. The acid water does not go bad, unlike alkaline water, and can be store at room temperature in a spray bottle ready for use when needed.
